Introducing One Planet Plate
Act with your appetite
One Planet Plate is a worldwide restaurant campaign to address the inherent problems in our food system, and we’re calling on you to join the collective movement to vote with your fork. This is a chance for chefs worldwide to show how they’re contributing to a better food future, and to galvanise diners and home-cooks to think about and act upon their own food choices, too.
The road to combating climate change
Is in your hands
More than a third of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions are generated by the food system.
77% of the world’s farmland is used to graze animals or to produce crops to feed animals. Globally, around a third of all food produced is lost or wasted, which contributes to another 10% of total greenhouse gas emissions.
Directly and indirectly, the production and consumption of food is responsible for a majority of global greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss and ill health. The food we choose, where it comes from, and how it ends up on our plate is one of the most impactful decisions for the future of our planet, and it is a choice that we make more than three times a day.

At HSBC, we believe that food opens up a world of opportunity by bringing people and cultures together. Our partnership with Food Made Good provides a platform to reach our customers and communities, to inspire positive change by encouraging sustainable dining habits.
Now, more than ever, what we eat matters. From what we consume to how it arrives on our plates, from how we grow or rear our food to how we package and dispose of it, there are steps we can all take to make a difference.
